Here’s another batch of the best split-screen games. In the second part you will find many great games for local multiplayer.
The local multiplayer mode has many advantages over the online mode. You are not dependent on the speed and quality of the Internet, and by playing in front of one console or computer with friends, you create a unique atmosphere that cannot be replaced by any online multiplayer mode.
Local multiplayer games are divided into those in which players share one common screen (two players on the same screen) and those in which each player has their own section of the screen (split-screen mode).
The split screen mode can be horizontal or vertical (some games allow the player to choose), but they have one thing in common – both provide great fun and enable amazing joint gameplay.
Unfortunately, this popular local multiplayer mode is not used very often in games, so it is worth appreciating every production that features it.

When it comes to LEGO games, the vast majority of them are equipped with a local multiplayer mode (split-screen). In fact, only in the first Batman, I was unable to run the game in this mode.
A unique item on this list is the first place, Baldur’s Gate 3. It is an amazing cRPG game that allows two players to play on one computer or console. However, this is not a complete novelty, as this option was already present in previous games by Larian, i.e. the Divinity Original: Sin series.

It would seem that split-screen games are focused mainly on competition between players, but this is not entirely true. Many of the productions with split-screen mode are cooperative games in which players must cooperate with each other.
All the above games were tested on PC, with two Xbox controllers. I do not guarantee the correct operation of local multiplayer using one gamepad and a keyboard and mouse set.

Which split-screen game is the best?
Split-screen games offer a unique way to enjoy multiplayer gaming, combining the thrill of competition with the camaraderie of local play. Baldur’s Gate 3, the standout title on this list, takes split-screen gaming to a new level by allowing players to explore its rich RPG world together on one screen. This cooperative experience builds on the legacy of Larian Studios’ earlier games, such as the Divinity Original: Sin series, and showcases how split-screen gaming can enhance storytelling and gameplay depth. For those seeking an epic adventure to share with a friend, Baldur’s Gate 3 stands as an exceptional choice.
For fans of high-octane action, Hot Wheels Unleashed and F1 22 bring thrilling racing action to the split-screen format. Hot Wheels Unleashed combines nostalgic track designs with modern visuals, offering chaotic yet entertaining gameplay that caters to players of all ages. On the other hand, F1 22 delivers a more realistic racing experience, allowing players to compete head-to-head in the high-speed world of Formula One.

Wondering if you can play together using just one controller and a keyboard?
Some games do allow it, but not all. For most offline multiplayer games, it’s safest to have two controllers ready to go – so you don’t run into any surprises when it’s time to play.
