We all know many popular local co-op games, but apart from them, there are many lesser-known productions that can be equally excellent.

Each of us knows such famous games with local multiplayer or split-screen modes as It Takes Two, Gears 5, A Way Out or Portal 2. And yet, couch co-op games are not only AAA titles. I assure you that these games can bring as much fun as the most popular titles, and often their price is much lower than top productions.

Below you will find a list of as many as 50 lesser-known games whose creators have provided them with a local multiplayer mode – either in terms of cooperation or competition. Here you will find games of various genres, such as shooting games, arcade games and fighting games.

I tested all titles in the PC version, using two gamepads – I do not guarantee that the local multiplayer mode will work on a set of one gamepad plus a keyboard and mouse.

It is worth supporting smaller studios and creators, because they do not have an unlimited budget, like gaming giants, and they have to focus on interesting ideas, excellent gameplay, or previously unseen solutions.
